It was a very wet June 22nd in Wisconsin, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of approximately 90 riders taking part in Jorgies UTV/ATV Ride for Veterans around Lakes Winneconne & Poygan. We were honored to be the Ride’s first stop, serving lunch for all riders and opening our doors to a dry space before they all had to move on.
The main benefactors of the day were the veteran based charities selected for the Ride: Journey Together Service Dog who trains and provides service dogs for those with PTSD and the Fox Valley Veterans Council who helps our area veterans with emergency needs. The Ride raised over $3,600, which was equally awarded to these two organizations.
The 50/50 raffle raised $325, which was donated to HOOAH, Wi. This is a local group that is proactively taking steps to eliminate veteran suicide.
It was a great day and a lot of money was raised for organizations that help take care of veterans! Thank you Jorgies!
